Lac Hong University successfully completes AUN-QA reassessment of four academic programmes, with many criteria rated “Better Than Expected”

Four academic programmes at Lac Hong University, namely the Undergraduate Programme in Pharmacy, Bachelor of Accounting, Bachelor of Business Administration, and Bachelor of English Language, have successfully completed their reassessment under the quality assurance standards of the ASEAN University Network–Quality Assurance (AUN-QA). Results announced by the AUN-QA Secretariat indicate that many criteria were rated “better than expected”, representing a significant improvement over the programmes’ previous assessment in 2021.

  • Lac Hong University’s Undergraduate Programme in Pharmacy, Bachelor of Accounting, Bachelor of Business Administration,
  • and Bachelor of English Language received AUN-QA certification following the 219th AUN-QA Programme Assessment in 2021.

The results recognise the continuous improvement undertaken by the four programmes over the five years since they were first certified as meeting AUN-QA standards. In addition to maintaining the conditions required for quality assurance, the programmes demonstrated the effectiveness of their improvement initiatives through data, supporting documentation, and feedback from relevant stakeholders.

To date, Lac Hong University has 18 academic programmes accredited by AUN-QA and two programmes accredited by ABET, reflecting the University’s commitment to developing a quality assurance system aligned with regional and international standards.

The reassessment formed part of AUN-QA’s 523rd Programme Assessment and was conducted at Lac Hong University from 9 to 11 June 2026. The assessment team, comprising experts from the Philippines, Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, and Cambodia, reviewed supporting documentation, inspected the University’s facilities, and held working sessions with University leaders, lecturers, students, alumni, employers, and representatives of support units.

Compared with the 2021 assessment, all four programmes demonstrated improvement across multiple standards, with a marked increase in the number of criteria rated “better than expected”. The results indicate that the recommendations made by the AUN-QA assessors during the previous assessment cycle were carefully considered, systematically implemented, and translated into measurable improvements.

One of the foundations of this progress is the University’s data-driven quality assurance system. Activities ranging from curriculum design and the assessment of programme learning outcomes to student and employer surveys, course reviews, and course improvement are conducted through digital platforms and monitored using quality indicators.

In particular, Lac Hong University has developed software for assessing programme learning outcomes. The system supports the collection and analysis of data to determine the extent to which students achieve the expected learning outcomes of their programmes, thereby enabling the University to develop appropriate improvement plans.

The University has also accelerated digital transformation in university governance and expanded the use of artificial intelligence in teaching and learning. Lecturers use digital and AI-powered tools to develop learning materials, create question banks, and analyse student performance. Students have access to intelligent learning platforms that help strengthen their capacity for independent learning, research, and adaptation to professional requirements in an increasingly digital environment.

The reassessment results of the four programmes also reflect the coordinated development of the University-wide quality assurance system. According to the University, Lac Hong University is the first higher education institution in Vietnam and Southeast Asia to achieve AUN-QA Institutional Assessment certification under Version 3.0.

Alongside its quality assurance activities, the University continues to expand its international partnerships. Through its collaboration with Cintana Education and Arizona State University in the United States, Lac Hong University is gaining access to advanced models of university governance, innovating its academic programmes, and broadening opportunities for students to study in an international learning environment.

The results of the 2026 AUN-QA reassessment not only recognise the quality of the four academic programmes but also demonstrate the effectiveness of the University’s strategic focus on data-driven governance, technology-enabled innovation, and student-centred education.

These achievements provide a strong foundation for Lac Hong University to continue improving educational quality, strengthening its competitiveness, and deepening its integration into regional and international higher education.
