Smoke-free policy

Lac Hong University implements a comprehensive smoke-free policy across all indoor and outdoor areas of its campus (issued on 21 October 2024 and last reviewed on 21 June 2025). The policy prohibits all forms of smoking, including conventional cigarettes, e-cigarettes, and heated tobacco products, to protect the health and wellbeing of students, staff, and visitors.

1. Smoke-free campus: Smoking and vaping are strictly prohibited throughout the University campus, including classrooms, offices, laboratories, libraries, dormitories, corridors, shared spaces, and outdoor areas.

2. No designated smoking areas: The University does not provide smoking shelters or designated smoking areas anywhere on campus, ensuring a completely smoke-free learning and working environment.

3. Clear signage: No-smoking and no-vaping signs are displayed at building entrances, access points, and across campus to communicate and reinforce the University's comprehensive smoke-free policy.

3. Awareness and communication: The University promotes awareness of the harmful effects of tobacco and second-hand smoke through its official website, internal communication channels, posters, and educational activities, encouraging smoking cessation and healthier behaviours.

4. Monitoring and enforcement: University units are responsible for communicating, monitoring, and enforcing the policy, with appropriate measures taken to address violations.

Through comprehensive smoke-free regulations, awareness activities, and enforcement measures, Lac Hong University maintains a smoke-free campus and promotes a healthier environment for the entire University community.
